About

Hey! I’m Riley McClaughry, I’m a Wildlife and adventure Filmmaker and Photographer based in Lake Tahoe, California. I’m originally from a suburb outside of Sacramento, but moved to Lake Tahoe to chase my love for nature and the outdoors.

Ever since I first picked up a camera at about age 13, Photography and Filmmaking have completely taken over my life and, these days I combine my love for wildlife and the natural world with my passion for filmmaking and photography. My mission is to tell wildlife stories around the globe, and bring light to the impacts us humans have on their daily lives. Over the years I’ve had the pleasure of working on many incredible projects with Outdoor Brands, Non Profits, Production Companies and Networks from all over the world. Some of these include, Columbia Sportswear, Promaster Photo, Natural History New Zealand, Flylow Gear, Eagles Nest Outfitters, Clean Up The Lake, Paradise Paddle Boards, and more!

The past couple years, the Black Bear population in the Lake Tahoe Basin has had a tight grip on me. I spent the majority of 2022 living alongside Black Bears and discovering what impacts us humans had on these incredible animals. I took a deep dive into the human-wildlife conflicts their involved in in Lake Tahoe and produced a 12 minute short documentary telling their story. Head over to the “Film” tab to watch!
